Waterloo
Region has to its benefit one of the most diverse
multicultural communities found in Canada.
And within this multicultural community, people
can be found with a wide range of talents and skills
in the arts ranging from classic and popular musicians,
to actors, writers, to visual artists and sculptors.
|
 |
And
yet, this remains largely an invisible community
to the larger Waterloo Region experience. Arriving
as immigrants or refugees into an established community
where theatres, art galleries and programs are competed
for become insurmountable barriers to those whose
first and foremost challenge is to make a living,
but whose language skills and perhaps confidence
in this culture add to make their access to being
seen as professional artists difficult. |
